Joe is the volunteer Satellite Seminar Chair for the Purchasing Management Association of Philadelphia, an affiliate of the Institute for Supply Management, is active in their Minority Business Development Working Group, and is on the General Conference Committee for the International Supply Management Conference, Philadelphia 2004.

Joe is also active with the HUBS Program, a hospitals, universities, businesses, and schools consortium transforming Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, into the nation's first "smart region" and has personally authored the Government Opportunities page of their web site and maintains the HUBS Calendar of Events.

His other professional interests include e-business, geospatial information systems, and XML strategies and technologies.
